You can hide your entire hard disk or any of your partition without using any softwares. This will work in Windows XP, Win7 Professional, Win7 Enterprise and Win7 Ulimate.

Step 1: Create a partition or select the partition which you want to hide.

Step 2: Now let us assume you want to hide the ‘D drive’. Open Run and type “gpedit.msc” and Hit on “Ok”.

This will open Group Policy Editor Utility. Then Select

User Configuration–> Administrative Templates–> Windows Components–> Windows Explorer on the left pane.

Double-click on the ‘Hide these specified drives in My Computer’ on the right pane.

In the following window, select ‘Enabled’ and

Choose the ‘D’ drive from the drop down list under ‘Options’. Apply the settings and exit.

That’s it!! Now your drive is hidden !!

Step 3: To unhide that

User Configuration–> Administrative Templates–> Windows Components–> Windows Explorer on the left pane.

Double-click on the Hide these specified drives in My Computer’ on the right pane.

In the following Window, select ‘Not Configured’  and Apply the settings.

Note: The hidden drive  can be accessed by Typing the address in “Run” or in the “Address bar of windows explorer”.
