How to prepare for GATE 2012
Hello guys who are those who applied for GATE 2012 here some basic tips for preparing GATE 2012…
WHAT IS GATE?
GATE is a national level entrance exam for different PG courses. This exam will be conducted first week of February. A bachelor engineering is must for this exam for those who appeared to final year of those UG courses can also apply.
STRUCTURE OF GATE:
This entrance exam consists of 60 questions for 100 marks in 3 hours duration.There will be 4 options in the answer sheet we have to choose right one in ORS sheet. Based on marks to each question negative marks will be calculated.
Syllabus for GATE:
The questions will be based on the topic we choose. The syllabus will be related to BE course.There will be a section for general aptitude also.For each of the specialisation there are certain areas that the candidates must prepare. A total of 55 questions will be from the engineering syllabus. Out of these there will around 15 marks questions from Engineering Mathematics. There will be both 1 mark and 2 marks questions in this section. Rest 10 questions will be from the General Aptitude section. This section will have questions which will have both ½ mark and 1 mark.

STUDY PLAN FOR GATE:
This exam will test candidates conceptual knowledge. The GATE Exam consists of objective type questions and sometimes solving these questions is tricky. The candidate should go through previous year question papers and model papers. This will offer you an idea about the exam. While reading a book do ask following questions and get answer such as “WHAT” “HOW” and “WHY” Best way to perpare for this exam is to Learn, test, analyse,improve…and then learn,test…this cycle is important.
